HOTEL REVIEW: Hotel Sunroute Ginza

Hotels in Tokyo can be expensive especially those in nice locations such as the ones near Tokyo Station, Marunochi, Kanda, Ginza, Tsukiji, and other nearby areas but with the right App, you can get great hotel rates even on a Friday / weekend.

I was scheduled to fly back to Manila on a weekend and since I've been staying in Kanagawa, it's a bit far to travel and arrive at the airport on time. I plan to go to the airport via the airport bus in Tokyo Station so a hotel within the vicinity is a priority.

Klook comes to the rescue. Using Klook App, I zeroed in on Hotel Sunroute Ginza because its location is perfect. From Kanagawa, I'll be taking the Nagatsuta train route till Ginza Station which is roughly 5-6 minutes walk to the hotel. And it is also about 15 minutes by foot to the airport bus at Tokyo Station. So convenient, right?

Hotel Sunroute Ginza is a 3-star business hotel. It is common knowledge that most of the hotels (big and small) in Tokyo is not that spacious and even if the hotel itself is the typical size, the rooms are about 19sqm and is just right for 1-2 person with a few luggage. We opt to avail of the room without breakfast that cost PhP 5700. Price in app is already converted to PHP. Considering the hotel's location and being a weekend, the hotel rate is reasonable already.

The bedroom was very nice though, especially the bed! I always check the bed first whenever we book a hotel because I believe that having a comfortable and relaxing sleep is important, next would be the toilet / bathroom. Bonus points if it has a bathtub.

And there you go- bathtub! Amazing how they're able to fit a bathtub in such a tiny space. Very clean also. Bath and hand towels are also provided as well as a hair dryer.

It is nice to note how hotels are embracing 'Reduce' by providing dispenser bottles of shampoo, hand soap, etc., instead of the small ones that usually got thrown away after use. This way, the housekeeping team will just refill the bottles.

Aside from the usual necessities inside the hotel room, Hotel Sunroute Ginza has a pair of pajama tops that guests can use. We didn't use it though because we have our own 'jammies.'

There's also a desk space in case you want to work or simply an extra space for your stuff. There's a small fridge under the desk, and kettle and supplies of tea and coffee. I tried to use my laptop for a bit but exploring Ginza is a better alternative.

Thumbs up also for the seamless and fast check-in. This is what I like about Klook. Everything is taken cared of when you book online, you just need to present a passport of you and your companion and the front desk officer will hand the room card. That fast.

Check-in time is 3:00PM onwards while checkout time is 11:00AM. If you need to go around the area again, you can leave your bags at the concierge.

We love our overnight stay at the Hotel Sunroute Ginza for many different reasons:

- we love the bed and the hotel amenities
- fast WiFi
- hotel is located in the 'quiet' part of Ginza
- short walk from Ginza Station
- 15 minutes walk to Tokyo Station
- walking distance from Ginza shopping district
- so many cafes and restaurants within the area
