Not Just For Kids

The Rumble Yard is a super cool event not only for kids but for the whole family as well. DC Shoes, a skateboarding and action sports brand shoes teamed up with ResToeRun for an action filled weekend at Solenand 2 in Nuvali. The event gave the kids a firsthand experience of the DC urban lifestyle and to introduce cool kicks to them.

The first Rumble Yard was held last December 7-8 at Solenand 2- Nuvali, Laguna and has a sequel on February 1-2 in Trinoma, Quezon City. DC Brand Associate Edilyn Yu said, "We want to embody the fun, active and exciting lifestyle of the youth today and join them as well through Rumble Yard." She added that, "There's an energetic side in all of us, from parents down to the kids, and this is what we wish to relive through the fun-filled weekend."

"The idea of putting up an action-packed event came to us as we wanted kids to enjoy the same quality time they have with their parents as they enter ResToeRun and we wanted to bring them out of the store and into a playground made especially for them," shared Dale Camandang, ResToeRun's Marketing Officer.

BOOK REVIEW: The House of Hades

I've been reading Rick Riordan's books ever since he came out with Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief and I'm glad that my daughter collects the books also. No, I did not influence her with her choice of titles but happy to note that she has a good eye when it comes to books.

For those of you who is not familiar with Hades, he is the Lord of the Underworld a.k.a. Pluto. No, not the pet of Mickey Mouse. Anyways, Hades is the Greek name of Pluto, Pluto is the Roman name of Hades. Capisce?

OOTD: My Not-So-Little Fashionista

Years ago when my daughter Isabel was just in Prep 1, people ask her what she wants to be when she grows up. This was her answer then- A fashion designer. Okay! That was weird since I am a bit conservative when it comes to my outfits and most often just wore what's readily available on the closet even if it doesn't match- hahaha. My hubby's like that also.

PARENTING 101: Who's Itchy?

As far as I can remember, we've been patronizing this brand of "anti-itchy" cream because my daughter always seem to have a red insect bite on her arm or leg. Its not that she rolls on the floor or something but maybe because she just smells nice to be bitten.

Anyways, she happen to wake up in the middle of the night the other day and there were red marks on her arms and legs. She shares our bed so I don't really have any idea why she gets this bite marks on her when we don't. As usual, I gave her the "anti-itchy" cream which she generously spread on the red spots in her body.

Then early this morning, I remembered to ask her about her bite marks and if she was itchy again last night since I came home late. She happily told me that all the red marks are gone thanks to the Virgin Coconut Oil that her Dad gave her. Huh?!
