Malayan High School of Science STEM students and alumni bagged silver and bronze medals for the category of Product Innovation Creative Research for Learners and Teachers at the First Manila Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Business Expo (MIPIBEx).
Jersey Carlisle Estrella, Josh Anthony Gorzon, Christian Danielle Olegario, and Juan Raphael Valeriano utilized radio frequency identification (RFID) and Arduino technology to develop an alternative school attendance system with better reading accuracy and speed. Their research entitle A Comparative Study of the Malayan High School of Science ID System and the Low-Frequency RFID-Arduino Based Attendance Monitoring System (LRABAMS) was awarded with a silver medal.
