City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office awarded SG Hassan Pasco of SM City San Pablo for his quick-thinking and courageous effort to save a life during a critical life-threatening situation that happened on June 25, 2023 at the mall's premises.
It was during his regular rounds when SG Pasco noticed an elder customer experiencing difficulty in breathing due to something stuck in his throat. Fortunately, SG Pasco has training in first aid and rescue techniques, he performed Abdominal Thrusts or Heimlich Maneuver to the distressed customer, and that saved the man's life.
He has trained in first aid rescue techniques and regularly undergoes refresher courses with the assistance of a Certified First Aid Trainer from the Philippine Red Cross. The training sessions are conducted every morning before the mall opens.
CDRRMO Management Council in San Pablo, Laguna commends SG Pasco for his quick-thinking and decisive action to save a man's life. SG Pasco was give a plaque of recognition and received P10,000 from the City Administration Office.
