Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan is not just an island with white powdery sand, it is also known for it azure and tranquil waters that is popular with local and foreign tourists alike. In fact, it is named as one of the best beach around the world.
Boracay is a small island that you can go from one end to another in about an hour. The west part of the island is what makes it popular especially for sunset watchers.
Of course, you can't just go to the beach and camp on the sand. You need a nice place to stay and am sharing my recommendations here. But first, let me just add that the island is known for its different areas such as Station 1, Station 2, Station 3, New Coast, Bulabog Beach, Ili-Iligan, Puka Beach, and the exclusive Shangri-La, Crimson Resorts area.
From these areas alone, the most popular choice would be Station 2 because that's strip where most of the restaurants and bars are especially at D'Mall. Not to mention that hotel rates at Station 2 are somewhat more reasonably priced as compared to Station 1. The hotels on the East side are also affordable but there's not much restaurants there so island guests still flock to the West side come dinner time.
Station 1 though has a nicer expanse of beach front and less crowded. It also has (same with Station 2) fine sand as compared to those of Puka and Bulabog Beach. Station 3 on the other hand, is also less crowded and it has some big hotels along the coastline also. This area is also popular for diving site meet-ups and drop-offs and also has nice restaurants.
But there's a lot of restaurants and coffeeshops at the East side waiting to be discovered. Hoping to do that soon and will update this post.
Aside from making reservation to your chosen hotel directly, you can also reserve via apps such as KLOOK and BOOKING.
