Banwa Private Island recently announced the appointment of Ms. Janet Oquendo as Island Manager. Ms. Oquendo has been a part of the island's pre-opening phase as head of operations. She returns to Palawan after serving as Hotel Manager for eco-resort, Cuixmala in Mexico.
A seasoned hotelier with over 25 years of international hotel management experience, Ms. Oquendo has also worked extensively in Aman luxury resorts, hotels, across continents doing pre-opening and operational roles.
Commenting on her new role heading day-to-day operations of Banwa Private Island, she says- "It is a privilege to get my feet back on the pristine sands of the island, where truly exclusive experiences are created and where sustainability is at the heart of luxury and intuitive service. This is very much aligned with me personally as well as professionally and I am so happy to be back."
