In line with the global celebration of International Dance Day, the festival highlights the transformative power of movement. Established in 1982 by the International Theatre Institute, International Dance Day is celebrated every April 29 in honor of Jean Georges Noverre, widely regarded as the father of modern ballet. The festival is also a reminder that dance transcends borders, cultures and language- connecting people through shared expression.

Following the opening gala is Folk Dance Gala on April 23, which highlights heritage and Filipino culture through traditional movement and storytelling. Then on April 24, the most dynamic crew and performers from the local dance scene takes center stage at the Street Dance Gala. Classical dance by the country's leading ballet talents performs on April 25- Ballet Gala. Rounding up the festival on April 26 is the Contemporary Gala, presenting innovative and expressive works that reflect the evolving language of modern dance.
