Samantha Ashley Lo and Sam Ajdani was recently hailed as Century Tuna Everybod Superbod 2020. It was also quite a memorable win for both as the contest was done right at the height of pandemic. The finals which was held at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City followed the strict safety protocols by FDCP-DOH-DOLE for film and audio-visual shoots.
"We needed to rise up to the challenge. We knew it was going to be tough but we stayed focused and if we're able to pull this off successfully, then at least we are able to provide a template for the industry to learn from and use. We soldiered on despite the challenges to show that it can be done," said Greg Banzon, Century Tuna EVP & COO. "It's important to stage the event to provide inspiration and a good benchmark for the country to put health, wellness and fitness as the top priority."
This year's Century Tuna Everybod Superbods 2020 winners are Samantha Ashley Lo, a nursing student, and Sam Ajdani, a fitness coach and professional model. Their persistence and commitment to stay fit amidst challenging times paid off. Sam Ajdani admitted though that it was quite hard to stay healthy as the pandemic poses a lot of restrictions such as going to the gym. As for Samantha Ashley Lo, her experience as a former Miss Grand International helped her resolved to remain focused and committed in her home workouts.
The 25 finalists were all strong contenders, showcasing inspiring traits and skills to encourage themselves and their fellow Filipinos to keep going, and remain healthy and strong during these trying times.
The finalists were judged by a distinguished panel of judges beginning with Century Pacific Food Inc. EVP & COO Greg Banzon; Carlo Endaya, Century Tuna Marketing Director; Nikko Huelgas, triathlete and SEA Games gold medalist; GMA Network Senior Assistant VP for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara; Isabelle Daza, Alice Dixon, Sarah Lahbati, Ina Raymundo and DJ Toni.
The health and fitness competition was relaunched last July 25 with a more inclusive and relevant #StayStrongPilipinas theme. To signal its resumption, Century Tuna released a rousing video via its official FB Page that features celebrity ambassadors Nadine Lustre and Alden Richards with the Superbods finalists urging everyone to stay strong and to continue pursuing their dreams of a healthier future through proper diet.
