Denise Nelsen was just appointed as the first female CEO of Smashburger. She brings with her more than 30 years of experience in the F&B industry, and 25 of which were at Starbucks. As the new CEO of Smashburger, she will drive innovation and growth for the brand, all while fostering a culture of excellence and high performance among the team.

Smashburger is just one of JG's four global brand in its portfolio. As of 2023, Smashburger has presence in eight countries with a store network of 236 locations, 210 of which are in the US. The brand will continue expanding in new locations as part of its strategic growth plans.
Nelsen joined the Smashburger as CEO last January 2024. Prior to joining the company, she is the SVP of US Operations at Starbucks. Her experience in these previous role has set Nelsen up with a solid foundation. She will cultivate and lead teams at Smashburger, integrate steamlined business processes, and aim to deliver an impactful influence on all Smashburger's employees, locations, and the communities they serve.
