It was an epic battle at the Dota 2 leg of the Predator League Philippine Finals last November 12 at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone. Two teams- Smurfers and Made in Philippines (MIPH) battled it out with the other teams to reach the Philippine Finals.
Both teams showed their gaming prowess but it was Made in Philippines who received the shield with a 2-0 victory.
In the heated bout between these two up-and-coming Dota 2 squads made an impact in both games. In Game 1, their control of the early midlane matchup from JG Galeon, combine with the teamfight presence from Glenard 'Rupido' Rugay's Dark Seer sealed the deal. Then in Game 2, MIPH nearly folded as Smurfer's Philip 'Karma' Torres and Ivan Neil 'Fiend' Valencia were snowballing efficiently after a shaky start. But luck was on MIPH side as they masterfully made a complete turnaround and took control of the battle.
In the series, Kryte 'Lufizy' Gabriel was heralded by fans as the Intel MVP and received a Predator Helios Neo 16 and P10,000.
With Made in Philippines' win in the Philippine leg of APAC Predator League 2024, they will once again stand on the stage to represent the country in the upcoming grand finals that will commence on January 13-14, 2024 at the SM MOA Arena.
Aside from the prestigious shield, MIPH was also awarded P250,000 while Smurfers took home P100,000.
Shoutcasters rain Zerlyn Manaig, Aries 'Kalbz' Alejandro, and Michael Angelo 'Alo' Zomil were present calling the shots for the matches. Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Allyza Taylor and Justin 'Vill" Villaserin added more flavor to the already exciting battle. Predator ambassadors Kang Dupet, KuyaNic, MaggieKarp, AmaraTV, and Een Mercado also graced the event.
Rock band 'Urbandub' performed 'Anthem' at the tail end of the event.
