Companies are choosing gifts that give back

With the COVID pandemic forcing over a year of lockdowns and work-from-home arrangements, companies have had to become more creative in making sure clients and customers keep them in mind.  But more than just buying items to slap their logo on, companies are increasingly leaning towards products that are mindful of the environment or those that help uplift marginalized communities for their corporate gifting needs.

Fortunately, corporate gift suppliers are more than able to fulfill these requirements, with some even focusing solely on working with disadvantaged or marginalized communities to manufacture their products.

BalaiKamay’s products are created by local communities of displaced workers, underprivileged highly-skilled carpenters and people with disabilities. They use sustainable raw materials such as repurposed wood and non-timber forest products like bamboo to help protect the ecological balance of the planet.

Looking for Juan offers eco-friendly tote bags, face masks, journals/planners -- all locally made, featuring artwork from homegrown artists that mirror the art and soul of Filipinos. Each purchase supports the One Million Books for One Million Filipino Children Campaign which helps millions of functionally illiterate Filipino youths by increasing access to books and encouraging a love for reading to promote functional literacy, creative thinking, and independent reading skills.

Gifts & Graces Fair Trade Foundation advocates and closely adheres to the 10 Principles of Fair Trade in its engagements with both the makers and the consumers. Paying a fair price, not allowing for child labor practices and upcycling to reduce waste are but a few of the activities practiced by the organization. Gifts and graces products are beautifully and thoughtfully designed by artisans using traditional techniques, upcycled products, and are crafted by Filipino women from various communities around the country.

“Companies want to give meaningful gifts to connect with their audience, while helping make a positive contribution to society” shares Raquel Romero, President of World Expos & Concepts, the company that organizes the annual Corporate Giveaways Buyers’ Show. “We're happy to give these organizations a platform where they can showcase their products to companies searching for gifts that give back".

This year's Corporate Giveaways Buyers' Show is online from August 1 to 31 on www.corporategiveawaysbuyershow.com. Upon registration, visitors will be able to view thousands of products for the country's best suppliers, download brochures and send inquiries through email and chat. Registration is free of charge.
