HOTEL REVIEW: Ascott Makati

Ascott Makati is one of the perfect place if you're looking for a hotel in Metro Manila as it is located in Makati or the Central Business District. Place is near the airport (both international and domestic). This is also a great hotel for staycation because it's literally a short walk to the mall.

I got a One Bedroom Apartment via Booking.com and it was a seamless booking transaction as always. Advance payment is needed and is non-refundable but should there be change in plans, reschedule is possible.

We were in for a surprise upon check-in because we were upgraded to a One Bedroom Executive Apartment. The only difference is that the executive one has a bathtub whilst the other one has a standing shower. But yey, thank you Ascott Makati.

The room opens to a short hallway, on the left is the bedroom and bath, on the right is the kitchen (yes, it has a kitchen!), then the dining area and living room which occupies half of the room. Quite spacious for a hotel.

The bedroom. You'll find the bathroom upon entering the door, then in front is the big cabinet that has a safe, hotel slippers, clothes iron/ ironing board. Far right is a working desk should one wish to bring a laptop during staycation. Haha, I brought mine but the room was really, really nice so I just enjoyed my stay and consciously ignore my laptop.

And the bed! Oh so nice! I love the mattress and the pillows. Very restful sleep indeed. View outside is Top of The Glo Japanese resto area and nearby Park Terraces condo.

The bathroom. My daughter enjoyed the bathtub, thank you. She brought her own bubble bath soap although there's the hotel soap & shampoo set.

This is the kitchen area. You can heat food although we really didn't use the stove. Instead of the usual bottled water, the kitchenette has a 5 gallon water dispenser. Wow! This is nice because it lessen use of disposable water bottles. It also has a pair of plates, cups and saucers, serving dish, glasses, cutleries. There's also the usual coffee and tea provisions.

My aunt and cousins are staying in Ascott also but since we have a bigger room, we invited them over for dinner. We just bought pizza and fried chicken, then ordered burgers and sandwiches and soup from Mesclun Cafe (hotel restaurant).

Other hotel amenities include gym, swimming pool, function rooms, etc.

Breakfast for two is included in the room stay. Mesclun is open for breakfast buffet from 6AM to 10AM. In our case, we are not really breakfast eaters so my daughter and I went down around 930AM for a quick breakfast. Btw, they have pudding and it is so good!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here in Ascott Makati. Staff are very nice and helpful. Plus points also for the location since it is just a few minutes walk to Glorietta and SM Makati, and Landmark and Greenbelt are also both within walking distance. Staycation + shopping is such a perfect combo.
