ART EXHIBIT: Propaganda At The Lopez Museum

The Lopez Museum recently launched its first exhibit of the year entitled- Propaganda. The exhibit will run from February 6 to May 30, 2015. Artworks of Nunelucio Alvarado, Santiago Bose, Joey Cobcobo, Don Salubayba, and Alvin Yapan are displayed alongside the works of Filipino masters Juan Luna, Felix Ressureccion Hildalgo, and Fernando Amorsolo. Works of National artists Napoleon Abueva, Jose Joya, and Cesar Legaspi are also featured.

Through the activation of an integral segment of the Lopez Museum and Library's collection, the World War II propaganda and election-related archival materials, Propaganda fleshes out the idea of myth-making and its ability to inspire change in society, and conversely, the formation of a fantasy or outright fallacy packaged as a promise that never gets fulfilled.

Coincidentally, the art exhibit also has some technology-forward feature courtesy of Samsung. Instead of having a docent, guests at the Lopez Museum can just check the tablets provided near the artworks to know more about the artist, the artworks, etc. It also has a creative feature that turns the artwork into something anime-ish.
