The Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) 2026 DTI-Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair (NFF) last April 8-12 held at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall featured over 320 MSMEs from across the country. The event highlighted MSMEs engaged in food manufacturing, processing and related enterprises. It also showcased reginal flavors and culinary innovations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and serves as a venue for enterprise development and market expansion.
Among the highlights are food concepts developed by former OFWs who transitioned into foodpreneurs. These enterprises demonstrates the potential of business development to generate sustainable livelihood opportunities in the Philippines.
The coconut industry was also given importance being one of the country's priority agricultural sector. In line with Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), participating enterprises showcased the sector's versatility and export potential.
There was also a dedicated Halal area that featured certified and Halal-ready products. This aims to expand the country's participating in the global Halal market through improved certification, standards compliance and product development.
The DTI Business Connect Lounge was able to business match MSMEs and institutional buyers, including distributors and retailers. It aims to translate business discussions into supply agreements and long-term partnerships.
This annual event is open to the public, with free admission. The 2026 DTI-Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair underscores resilience, innovation and global competitiveness of Filipino MSMEs.
