The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently held a three-day festival that highlights Filipino gastronomy and the digital transformation of MSMEs. This was from May 30- June 1, 2025 at Megatrade Halls 1-3, SM Megamall.
The DTI Malikhaing Pinoy website was also launch during the event. Known as the 'National Gateway to Filipino Creativity and Business,' the website is a technological space for the DTI B2B Marketplace online platform and is designed to connect Filipino MSMEs with a wider market. It features three core functions: 'Connect, Learn, and Thrive.'
The website is part of the Tatak Pinoy Strategy Program, and supports the acceleration of MSME competitiveness and digital adoption. It serves as a platform to showcase heritage-inspired food products from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao thru exhibits, cooking demonstrations and the featured Kayumanggi Philippine Heritage Recipe book. It also celebrations Iloilo City's designation as a UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy.
To equip MSMEs for long-term growth, the event also featured a dedicated collaboration zone with technology partners that provide access to tools for eCommerce, logistics, digital payments and marketing. It also promotes innovation and storytelling, encouraging food MSMEs to embrace heritage-driven product development while scaling through digital platforms.
The event was more than a food festival, it also celebrates Filipino creativity and resiliency thru technology integration and cultural identity, that help transform MSMEs into globally competitive brands.
While distinct from the National Food Fair (NFF), the Food Festival 2025 shares DTI's mission to uplift MSMEs by highlighting immersive experiences, digital integration and creative gastronomy.
