HOTEL REVIEW: Taal Vista Hotel

Tagaytay is known for its cool weather, lovely view of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, active dining scene with rustic restaurants and coffeeshops. Of course, not to mention its proximity to Metro Manila which is roughly a 2-hour by private car, one can literally and figuratively chill in Tagaytay.

Spending a night or two is also possible especially if the hotel is facing east, and has a nice view of Taal. One such place that fits all of that is Taal Vista Hotel.

I haven't been to Tagaytay for years because I dread the traffic but I can't seem to resist an invite from a smartphone phone brand, not just to attend its grand launch but with an overnight stay to boot. Also, things of the past are almost becoming normal again after being cooped for two years because of the pandemic. So this is really a nice treat. Thank you HONOR Philippines

So I found myself at Taal Vista just a couple of weeks ago. Check-in time was around 230PM but since there's a lot of us, the lobby at the East Wing was dedicated to our big group and the organizers just gave us the keys to our rooms after registration.

My roommate and I got billeted at the Mountain View bldg., a bit far from where we registered but it was on the quieter part of the hotel compound and is just beside the swimming pool.

Our lovely twin room is spacious and has the usual amenities such as desk, small fridge, coffee/tea set, ironing board, etc.

Like some of the hotels that I've been to lately, Taal Vista Hotel also practice reducing plastic so instead of the usual bottled water, there's hot/cold water dispenser along the hallway. Drinking glasses and a pitcher are provided inside the room. This is also true with body wash and shampoo in the shower area. Thumbs up!

As much as I love to swim, Tagaytay's cool early morning temperature and wind makes it impossible. Haha brrrrr!

Buffet breakfast is included in our stay and The Veranda has more than several appetizing and savory choices. Of course, there's bacon! You can choose to dine inside or at the al fresco area and enjoy the lovely view of Taal Lake. And if you dine really early (around 6AM), you can watch the sunrise.

Here's what the place looks like in the evening. The lights on the trees makes the place magical and romantic. Perfect place for dates. *wink* *wink*

This is the lobby lounge. You can order coffee, pastries, or cocktail drinks here.

Taal Vista is really a huge place and I wasn't able to picture the whole place. That separate building is where our room is so you can just imagine the long, long walk to the lobby and restaurant. But apart from that, you'll enjoy walking because of the cool breeze and the relaxing ambiance.

This lawn, by the way, is a mini-golf area just in case you want to practice or simply allow your kids to run.

And there's a secret garden! This is just near the swimming pool area. It's nice to know that the leafy greens, herbs, and edible flowers that the hotel is serving comes from its very own garden. Thumbs up!

I am still stoked about this digital welcome in our room. So nice. Thank you HONOR Philippines and Taal Vista Hotel for making our overnight stay relaxing and memorable.
