XTREME Casting 101

In an age where thousands of shows and movies are accessible with just a tap on your phones or laptops, it becomes natural for televisions to adapt to this form of technology as well. XTREME LED Smart TV readily makes streaming on big screens easy by incorporating a dedicated button on its remote to access Netflix and Youtube, two of the most popular portal.

Browsing and scrolling through both streaming services are made easy when both services come up with suggested videos, shows, and music for you to play. But when you have something specific in mind, it becomes quite inconvenient to have to manually key in the letters one by one to be able to search for it using your remote. But there is a way around that.

It's possible to use your phone as a remote to control these streaming services. Using YouTube on your phone, you can easily cast to screen the videos that you would want to play and even add more to your queue for seamless streaming. For Netflix, that process is pretty much the same, you search up your chosen show or movie and simply look for the cast icon usually found at the upper right corner of your phone screen.

Besides using your phone to control your Netflix and YouTube accounts, you can turn your phone into a remote to control your TV and cast your own saved videos through FastCast. FastCast can be accessed through the TVs home button and selecting the Smart icon found at the bottom left corner of the screen and selecting the FastCast would direct you to a QR code that leads you to the page where you download the app. Of course, you can also search up FastCast on Google PlayStore as well.

Another feature that I didn't think was possible through the XTREME LED Smart TV was casting from my laptop directly. While the TV conveniently brings Netflix and YouTube to the screen, I realized that I wanted to be able to watch the stuff saved on my laptop without the use of external cables and other casting devices. To my surprise, I found out that it was possible. It can only be done if your laptop and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Having said all that, the TV easily adapts to the current trend of only streaming and readily brings convenience to going on you online series-binge.
