At the onset of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, Hotel Sogo was one of the first to provide free accommodation to frontliners, especially those in healthcare. The hotel group coordinated with 10 city mayors and 31 hospitals in the country and a total of P800M worth of donation (or more than 800 room accommodations) were given to healthcare workers, OFWs and seafarers repatriates for free.
The hotel continuously implements hygienic measures such as placing alcohol and hand-sanitizers in common areas, routine checking of temperature for guests and employees, and of course, focusing more in making sure that the hotel is clean and sanitized daily. UV light treatment is used to make sure that the hotel facilities are virus-free.
As for the employees, hotel uniforms have been redesigned to incorporate PPEs. Social distancing for employees is also strictly implemented, as well as placing markers of appropriate distance in the front desk, elevators, etc.
Another nice feature is the "contactless" doors and elevators. Guests and employees are given a "No-contact" key, that they can use to open room doors, use in elevators, and they can even use it in ATMs.
