The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand is a complex of palaces and temples and is the residence of the Kings of Thailand. Remember the movie musicale- The King And I? It is similar to that since some part of the complex are along the river. I can just imagine Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr performing- Shall We Dance.
But the actual Grand Palace is nothing like that although the movie musicale was based on the memoirs of Anna Leonowens who worked as a governess for the King of Siam in the 1860's. Although it is such a vast complex, only a portion of it are open to the public since the royalties are still residing there.
