Spanish-based production, Bosco Films, has just announced the Philippine release of JUST JAVIER starting August 12, 2026 and will be shown exclusively in Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide.
JUST JAVIER has become one of the biggest documentary surprises in Spanish cinema following its premiere on September 12, 2025 in Spain. It attracted more than 23,000 moviegoers during its run and continued its cinema-run for more than a month after its premiere. It debuted across nearly ten Spanish-speaking countries, and is now about to make its Philippine debut.
The film revolves around the life of Javier Sartorius Milans del Bosch, a charismatic young man descended from one of Spain's aristocratic families. Born with privilege, mingling with high society and business people, paired with a promising career in sports, he left all that to answer the calling of missionary life, contemplation and faith.
Aside from being a gifted tennis athlete, he also became a paddle tennis champion while studying Business Administration in the United States. His time with the homeless community in Los Angeles has a profound impact and he found himself searching and reflecting for a deeper purpose in life. His self-actualization led him to Cusco, Peru, where he spent time doing missionary work, and live a simple life devoted to service and prayer, with God at the center.
This film is more than just a documentary, it also explores universal questions about purpose, fulfillment, sacrifice and the courage to find one's self. JUST JAVIER invites audiences to reflect on what it means to live authentically and discover one's personal 'joy,' and not just worldly success.
