IKEA officially opens its online store in the Philippines ahead of its Pasay store opening. The online store will operate 24/7 and will surely be a treat to Filipinos who loves to shop.
"After several weeks of learning from our test-run, we are glad that we are now accessible to more Filipinos," said Georg Platzer, Store Manager of IKEA Pasay City. "We are very excited to be part of the lives of many people in the Philippines and share in their dreams of a better life at home."
Last September, IKEA went on a test-run for its online store, where it opened up online shopping with limited capacity. This was to test all operational and technical processes and ensure an enjoyable and hassle-free online shopping experience.
Most popular items during the test-run came from home storage and work space categories. Other popular items include the KUPONG Alarm Clock (P90) from home decor items, FEJKA Artificial Potted Plant (P290), and BONDIS Wall Clock (P590).
The KRAMIG Soft Toy (P200) is also quite popular from the Children's items section, as well as the functional TROFAST Storage Box (P150), and the fully-stocked DUKTIG Play Kitchen (P5,990).
Shopping at IKEA online is easy, simply create an account at the IKEA website (this is different from their IKEA Family membership information). Then choose the products they want, add to cart, and proceed to checkout. IKEA accepts payments via major credit cards, GCash, and installment via BDO.
IKEA offers three delivery options: truck, parcel, and click and collect. Orders that do not exceed more than 30kg in weight and 1.8m in length and height will be considered as parcel orders. For more than 30kg in weight and height, it will be considered as truck delivery order. Online shoppers can also choose to pick up their orders in select collection points.
Truck delivery orders are currently limited to Metro Manila only while parcel deliveries include Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, part of Quezon (up to Lucena), Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, and Subic.
For a more exciting shopping experience, Platzer recommends shoppers to sign-up for IKEA Family to begin earning points from their purchases. This also sets them up to enjoy store-in only perks once the Pasay City store opens later this year. To date, there are over 221K IKEA Family Members. Sign-up here---> IKEA Family.
