Momoy Lulumboy: And Batang Aswang came from the imagination of Segundo Matias, Jr., a seasoned storyteller who has written over 1,500 books for children and young adults that includes the following titles: Makabagong Alamat, Mga Kwentong Nanay, and Mga Kwentong Dapat Mong Malaman.
He is also an awardee of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards in 2011 for Alamat Ng Duhat which won First Prize. He is also a recipient of the PBBY-Salanga Prize. Aside from writing stories, he has also writen screenplays for Viva Films, Seiko Films, and Regal Films.
The story begins at a Cosplay Event, where mortal humans dress up to look out of this world, something truly magical is about to unfold. A man dressed as a dwarf- or is he really one? - hands a woman a bag that wil change her life. Inside the ba is Moymoy Lulumboy, a child of a goddess and a mythical creature called Tibaro. Though raisec like any other human child, Moymoy's strange powers surface, especially under stress. To get out of trouble, he shape-shifts! Moymoy is able to change his identity, but has yet to find where he truly belongs. Little does he know that within him lies the key to an ancient secret.
Jomike Tejido who did the illustration for the book is an architect by profession. He has illustrated more than 70 children's books as well as published more than a few: Tagu-Taaguan (Best Reads 2010), Pundido (Golden Book 2002), and Jepoy Dyip Series. He is also an accomplished painter and had solo exhibits in Manila, and group shows in Tokyo, Paris and the USA.
