VISITA IGLESIA: St. Vincent De Paul

St. Vincent De Paul church is a lovely church located inside the Adamson University campus in Ermita, Manila. It was first built in 1883 and then in 1912, the concrete church was built to accommodate more parishioners  and to mark the 50th year of the Vicentians and Sisters of Charity in the country.

It also used to be the parish church of Paco from 1898 to 1909. Some parts of the church interiors was also burned down during WWII so the church has undergone several renovations since then.

St. Vincent De Paul was a French Roman Catholic priest who dedicated his life in serving the poor. He was canonized as a saint in 1737.

Lord Jesus,

You who willed to become poor, give us eyes and a heart directed toward the poor, to help us to recognize you in them- in their thirst, their hunger, their loneliness, and their misfortune.

Vincentian Family unity, simplicity, humility, and the fire of love that burned in St. Vincent de Paul. Strengthen us, so that, faithful to the practice of these virtues, we may contemplate you and serve you in the person of the poor, and may one day be united with you and them in your kingdom. Amen.
