The online consultation is done in a small room set-up which only has a chair and a table with laptop. The person who needs consultation will chat with the doctor who is at the Konsulta MD HQ and tell the doctor about his/her ailment.
The backdrop is on top of one of the mountains in Norzagaray, Bulacan which has a very breathtaking view. This mountain is part of the Sierra Madre which stretches from Quezon to the Northern part of the Philippines and is the longest mountain range in the country.
Konsulta MD is a health hotline wherein you have a 24/7 access to doctors via 79880. The medical team manning the phones are a mix of general practitioners, and other specialists who will assist the caller with basic healthcare and permissible medication over the phone. What's nice about Konsulta MD is that one can get immediate medical attention via the telephone or mobile phone.
The Dumagats residing in these part of Norzagaray is a small community since there are also other tribe members in other parts of Norzagaray such as the ones who resides near Ipo and Angat Dam.
Bro. Martin Francisco is a lay volunteer who has been assisting the Dumagats for years now. He said that some of the common recurring ailments of the tribe members are: ulcer, UTI, cough and colds.
And because some of the Dumagats are not really well-versed in today's technology like this lady here, she said that she was surprised and a bit afraid when she was inside the Kunsulta MD room because she can't see whom she is speaking to and where the voice is coming from. But overall, she relished the experience of being able to have an online medical consultation.
